Lahore: Black plum has a sweet and sour taste and is acidic and astringent in nature. Due to its acidic nature, it is usually sprinkled with salt before eating. This big evergreen tree is planted widely in the Cauvery delta in Tamil Nadu and Gangetic plains in India. It is also present in the Philippines, Thailand, and West Indies.
